Dermaplaning is an exfoliation treatment that involves gently scraping the face with a medical-grade scalpel to remove the very top layer of skin. This treatment removes both dead skin cells and the fine vellus hairs that are known as peach fuzz, leaving the surface of the face ultra smooth. By stimulating the development of new skin cells, this type of exfoliation — sometimes called a scalpel facial — reveals fresh, new skin. It leaves patients with a more youthful and dewy face, but without any harsh chemicals, excessive downtime, or pain. Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin treatment which produces “fractional” microinjuries to the epidermis and dermis to promote collagen production, or collagenesis. Microneedling treats conditions such as acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, smoker’s lines around the lips, skin laxity, scars (surgical and burns), stretch marks, pigment issues, pore size, and uneven skin texture. Sometimes referred to as collagen induction therapy and skin needling, the procedure centers around its ability to stimulate collagen production.

The inflammation, healing, and collagenesis processes must take place for the benefits of microneedling to become evident.  Collagenesis peaks at 14 days after treatment.  Thus, a period of 14 – 30 days should lapse before a repeated microneedling treatment, and a period of 30 – 45 days should lapse before a repeated treatment for deep scars.

JESSNERS CHEMICAL PEEL (THIS IS A SERIES OF 3 peels, 4 weeks apart)
Combination of salicylic acid, resorcinol and lactic acid. Salicylic acid dissolves hardened skin cells within the epidermal layer of skin, lactic acid adds hydration and resorcinol is used due to its natural antiseptic properties. The solution is a leave-on, self neutralizing solution and it must be left completely undisturbed with no water or oil on the skin for at least 6-8 hours post-treatment. The peeling process will take several days to complete its course.
